The Coast Guard issued marine safety alert 05-14 which comes from a recent parasail casualty investigation. This event was fortunate in that the parasail towline did not break and there were no fatalities or injuries. Parasail vessel insurers, owners and operators should read the alert for recommendations from the Coast Guard on how to prevent future casualties and maximize safety.
