The Coast Guard announced its release of the third edition of the Incident Management Handbook. The new edition includes an internal field review, an external review by federal, state, local and private sector maritime partners as well as after-action reports and lessons learned published after 2005.
Many thanks go out to the hundreds of emergency management and incident response professionals who reviewed and contributed to the response guide. The Incident Management Handbook is the first tactical Incident Command System guide to describe how the Coast Guard will apply the Federal Emergency Management Agency’s National Incident Command System intelligence and investigation guidance.
The Incident Management Handbook is currently only available in PDF format. The Coast Guard is currently developing the mobile application version of the handbook for use on smartphones and tablets, which is expected to be released in the spring of 2015.
