The Coast Guard, National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers recently invited you to share your comments and feedback regarding the modernization of navigation services. As of today, the presentations that were provided at the subject Listening Sessions are NOW available online at the feedback site for viewing prior to providing additional and/or updated feedback.

Beginning on May 1, 2014, the U.S. Coast Guard, in partnership with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, or NOAA, and the U.S. Army Corp of Engineers, or USACE, conducted a series of nationwide public listening sessions on emerging navigation technology and potential enhancements in building the 21st Century Waterway. These listening sessions were held in several locations across the country to provide opportunity for open communication between various federal agencies and U.S. Maritime Transportation System stakeholders as well as to provide three presentations, from the Coast Guard, NOAA and USACE. These presentations detail how existing technology, such as the Nationwide Automatic Identification System, can be used to provide an additional tool to improve safety for marine navigation on the U.S. waterways.

For those who missed the public listening sessions, and those who attended, the three presentations provided by each individual service are NOW available online! This information is intended for all mariners and stakeholders, including recreational boaters and professional mariners, desiring to provide commentary and feedback on the current and future initiatives involving the U.S. waterways.
