The Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Center updated two items on their website:
All MTNs and PRGs are reviewed every three years and are updated periodically in between. The MTNs that were updated in this notice are 02-05 and 01-04. The PRGs that were updated are H2-14, SOLAS-05, E2-19, E2-03, H2-06, H2-11, E1-09 and E1-18.
Marine Safety Center Technical Notes are issued by the Coast Guard Marine Safety Center to inform the maritime public of policy determinations and interpretations of technical requirements in the regulations relating to commercial vessel plan review.
Plan review guidelines were developed by the Marine Safety Center staff as an aid in the preparation and review of vessel plans and submissions. They were developed to supplement existing guidance. They are not intended to substitute or replace laws, regulation or other official Coast Guard policy documents. The responsibility to demonstrate compliance with all applicable laws and regulations still rests with the plan submitter.
