2/3/2015: Navigation Safety Advisory Council – Committee meeting

The Navigation Safety Advisory Council will meet on February 18-19, 2015, in Oakland, California to discuss matters relating to maritime collisions, rammings and groundings, Inland Rules of the Road, International Rules of the Road, navigation regulations and equipment, routing measures, marine information, diving safety and aids to navigation systems.

These meetings will be open to the public.

Agenda topics include;

• E-Navigation strategy
• Atlantic coast port access route study
• Future of navigation initiatives

Working groups topics include:

• Modernization of marine safety information systems
• Automatic Identification Systems aids to navigation
• Navigation interests in marine planning

The Coast Guard is inviting public comment as well as offering a public comment period during the meeting.
