Last month, the National Marine Sanctuary Foundation hosted a joint panel called ‘Securing the Coasts: U.S. Navy & Coast Guard.’ The panel consisted of Rear Adm. John Nadeau, the Coast Guard’s assistant commandant for capability and Rear Adm. Jonathan White, oceanographer and navigator of the U.S. Navy.
The panel focused on emerging threats and challenges in dealing with balancing activities on the water, increasing storms and extreme events and changing ocean environments from the Atlantic to the Arctic.
