8/31/2015: National Maritime Security Advisory Committee vacancy announcement

As a courtesy to our audience, Maritime Commons will provide a daily compilation of nationally-relevant Federal Register Notices. The Coast Guard seeks applications for membership on the National Maritime Security Advisory Committee. The National Maritime Security Advisory Committee provides advice and makes recommendations on national maritime security matters to the Secretary of Homeland Security via the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard.

Completed applications should reach the Coast Guard on or before October 30, 2015.

Applications will be considered for positions that become vacant on December 31, 2015.

Applicants with experience in the following, with at least five years of experience, are encouraged to apply:

• Individual who represents the interests of the port authorities
• Individual who represents the interests of the facilities owners or operators
• Individual who represents the interests of the terminal owners or operators
• Individual who represents the interests of the vessel owners or operators
• Individual who represents the interests of the maritime labor organizations
• Individual who represents the interests of the academic community
• Individual who represents the interests of State and local governments
• Individual who represents the interests of the maritime industry
