10/2/2015: Towing Safety Advisory Committee meeting

The Towing Safety Advisory Committee will meet in Washington, DC October 22-23, 2015.

The subcommittees will discuss:

  • Recommendations for the maintenance, repair and utilization of towing equipment, lines and couplings
  • Recommendations to establish criteria for identification of air draft for towing vessels and tows
  • Recommendations concerning the MODU KULLUK report of investigation
  • Recommendations regarding the automation equipment, testing and trial periods to be considered by Officers-in-Charge, Marine Inspection for a reduction in engine room personnel on towing vessels
