The Coast Guard seeks comment on the approval of a new collection on maritime transportation system recovery essential elements of information.

This information collection captures data on facilities, vessels and shared transportation infrastructure prior to a port disruption to be able to characterize the port in its normal fully functioning condition.

The Coast Guard seeks comments from owners and operators of U.S. waterfront facilities.

In particular, the Coast Guard would appreciate comments addressing:

(1) The practical utility of the Collection;
(2) The accuracy of the estimated burden of the Collection;
(3) Ways to enhance the quality, utility, and clarity of information subject to the Collection;
(4) Ways to minimize the burden of the Collection on respondents, including the use of automated collection techniques or other forms of information technology.

Comments must reach the Coast Guard by July 8, 2016.
