Homeport 2.0, which launched October 17, has a different user interface but much of the same information is available. The following applications are available for use; however, the search functions have been modified:
• Merchant Mariner Application Status: Mariners will be able to search by Reference number (Mariner number) and Application ID. Reference number and application ID can be found in the automated emails sent once your application has been received. If you are not receiving status update e-mails and would like to, please contact the NMC via Chat, via e-mail (email@example.com), or by phone at 1-888-IASKNMC (427-5662).
• Merchant Mariner Credential Verification: Users will be able to perform a Document Search by Document Number and Document Type, a Single Mariner Search by Reference Number and Last Name, and a Multiple Mariner Search by Reference Number and Last Name.
Searches using the last name, date of birth, and the last four numbers of the social security number are no longer be available.
The Homeport update did not affect the Merchant Mariner Sea Service Renewal Calculator or Merchant Mariner Certificate printing.
