The Coast Guard announced in the Federal Register that, in accordance with the Great Lakes Pilotage Act of 1960, it is proposing new base pilotage rates and surcharges for the 2019 shipping season. This rule would adjust the pilotage rates to account for anticipated traffic, an increase in the number of pilots, anticipated inflation, and surcharges for applicant pilots.
Public comments will be accepted until Nov. 16, 2018 through the Federal eRulemaking Portal and should be identified by docket number USCG-2018-0665.
