Field Notice 01-2019: Ship Rider program

The Liquefied Gas Carrier (LGC) National Center of Expertise (NCOE) recently released LGC NCOE Field Notice 01– 2019, “Advanced Liquefied Gas Ship Rider Program.”

Field Notice 01-2019 describes the objectives and scope of the Coast Guard’s Advanced Liquefied Gas Ship Rider Program and the functional descriptions and responsibilities of all involved Coast Guard personnel. 

One of the key objectives of this program is to enhance and preserve a positive working relationship between the Coast Guard and the Liquefied Gas maritime transportation community through a short ship ride opportunity for Coast Guard Foreign Gas Carrier Examiners.  Through promulgation of this Field Notice, the Liquefied Gas Carrier National Center of Expertise’s intention is to promote this program as an opportunity for both the industry and the Coast Guard to share and learn from one another.
