Submission deadline for William M. Benkert Environmental Protection Award extended to March 2, 2020

The Office of Port and Facility Compliance announced that the application deadline for the 2020 Biennial Rear Admiral William M. Benkert Environmental Protection Award is extended to March 2, 2020.

This program recognizes corporations and businesses involved in marine facility or vessel operations that have demonstrated sustained excellence and outstanding achievement in protecting the marine environment. It also encourages innovations in operations, maintenance, cargo handling, refueling and training while providing a means to share best practices with others in the maritime community.

Applications will be accepted until March 2, 2020, to the following address:

The 2020 award will be presented during the North American Marine Environment Protection Association Safety at Sea National Maritime Day seminar and AMVER awards reception May 21, 2020, at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C.
