Marine Safety Center issues Ballast Water Management System Type Approval Certificate to Semb-Eco Pte, Ltd.

The Coast Guard Marine Safety Center issued the 33rd U.S. Coast Guard Ballast Water Management System Type Approval Certificate to Semb-Eco Pte, Ltd. after a detailed review of the manufacturer’s type approval application determined the system met the requirements of 46 CFR 162.060.

The treatment principle of the Semb-Eco LUV U1 BWMS consists of filtration and UV during uptake and discharge. This approval covers one model with a maximum treatment rated capacity of 500 m3/h.

A complete list of ballast water treatment systems that have been approved or have type approval applications currently under review can be found on the Marine Safety Center webpage at www.dco.uscg.mil/msc. Redacted copies of all completed type approval certificates are also available.
