The Office of Merchant Mariner Credentialing is hosting a meeting of the National Merchant Marine Personnel Advisory Committee (NMERPAC) on September 7th, 8th, and 9th, 2022 at the STAR Center in Dania Beach, FL.

During the September 7th session, the full Committee will meet to discuss Workforce Issues and the Mariner Shortage. A robust Merchant Marine is vital to National Security and NMERPAC welcomes input from all facets of the industry on measures to help address the shortage.

NMERPAC advises, consults with, and makes recommendations to the Secretary of the Department of Homeland Security through the Commandant of the United States Coast Guard on matters relating to personnel in the United States Merchant Marine including the training, qualifications, certification, documentation, and fitness of mariners.
