Coast Guard convenes Marine Board of Investigation into loss of F/V Scandies Rose
The Coast Guard announced in a news release Feb. 28, 2020, that it has convened a marine board of investigation into the loss of the fishing vessel Scandies Rose and five of its seven crewmembers. A marine board of investigation is the highest level of investigation in the Coast Guard.
Coast Guard officer named among “Top 100 Women in Shipping”

In February, allaboutshipping.co.uk published a “Top 100 Women in Shipping” in recognition of International Maritime Organization’s World Maritime Day 2019 theme, “Empowering Women in the Maritime Community.” Among the respected, influential, and deserving women named on the Top 100 list was U.S. Coast Guard Lt. Cmdr. Eustacia “Staci” Weist from the Commercial Regulations and Standards Directorate at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
MSIB on Certificate of Documentation delays cancelled
The Coast Guard is cancelling MSIB 03-19 because the NVDC is current with processing of COD renewal requests for both commercial and recreational vessels.
