3/29/2018: Reminder – application period for Towing Safety Advisory Committee membership open until April 10
The Coast Guard will consider applications for five positions that will be vacant Sept. 30, 2018: Two positions representing the barge and towing industry, reflecting a regional geographical balance; one position representing the offshore mineral and oil supply vessel industry; one position representing shippers; and one position drawn from the general public to serve as a Special Government Employee. To be eligible, applicants should have particular expertise, knowledge, and experience regarding shallow-draft inland, coastal waterway, and offshore, navigation and towing safety.

Adm. Paul Zukunft, commandant of the U.S. Coast Guard, delivered the State of the Coast Guard Address March 1 at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C. This was Zukunft’s final State of the Coast Guard Address, as he will retire June 1, following the Commandant’s Change of Command.

Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Paul Zukunft will deliver the 2018 State of the Coast Guard Address, March 1, 2018, at the National Press Club, beginning at 2 p.m. The address will be available via livestream.
