4/9/2019: CMA Shipping 2019 – Flag state control, Maritime Commerce Strategic Outlook, and more from keynote remarks

In addition to remarks on IMO 2020 during his keynote speech at Connecticut Maritime Association’s 2019 Shipping Conference, Rear Adm. John Nadeau gave attendees a rundown of some of the other initiatives and issues the Coast Guard’s prevention program focused on in 2018. In this post, we are providing a condensed version of this portion of Nadeau’s remarks for the benefit of our readers unable to attend.

4/3/2019: CMA Shipping 2019 – Keynote remarks on “Countdown to Compliance of IMO 2020”

Rear Adm. John Nadeau, assistant commandant for prevention policy, attended Connecticut Maritime Association’s Shipping 2019 Conference in Stamford this week. Nadeau gave keynote remarks on the upcoming IMO 2020 global cap and also discussed various other initiatives the Coast Guard addressed in 2018. 3/19/2019: Commandant to deliver State of the Coast Guard Address

Coast Guard Commandant Adm. Karl Schultz will deliver the 2019 State of the Coast Guard Address, at 10 a.m., PST, Thursday, March 21, from Coast Guard Base Los Angeles/Long Beach. This is Schultz’s first State of the Coast Guard Address since his tenure as commandant began in 2018. Schultz will provide a current overview of the service and outline priorities for the year ahead.
