The Coast Guard seeks comments and will hold a public meeting on a proposed rule that would require each owner or operator of a facility, regulated by the Coast Guard, to provide seafarers and other individuals with access between vessels moored at the facility and the facility gate, in a timely manner and at no cost to the seafarer or other individual.
The Coast Guard published Marine Safety Information Bulletin 18-14 to remind commercial fishing industry about safety and equipment requirements.
The Coast Guard is now requiring all uninspected commercial vessels, within the scope of the statutory requirement, to carry lifesaving devices even if they carry no passengers for hire to include certain uninspected commercial vessels, including barges and sailing vessels.
The Coast Guard published a proposed rule in the Federal Register to announce a public meeting to receive comments on a notice of proposed rulemaking published in the Federal Register under the title “Tonnage Regulations Amendments.”
As a courtesy to our audience, Maritime Commons will provide a daily compilation of nationally-relevant Federal Register Notices.
