The Coast Guard announced in a news release last week that investigators continue to seek information regarding the fishing vessel Mary B II, which capsized off Newport, Oregon, Jan. 9, 2019, and resulted in the loss of the three crew members and the vessel. Anyone with information is encouraged to provide it to the investigation team at AccidentInfo@uscg.mil, using the subject line “F/V MARY B II.” Questions may be sent to the same address.

2/9/2016: Hearing set for Coast Guard Marine Board of Investigation into EL FARO Sinking
The U.S. Coast Guard will conduct a public Marine Board of Investigation hearing into the loss of the United States-flagged steam ship EL FARO, and its 33 crewmembers. The first hearing will focus on the pre-accident historical events relating to the loss, the regulatory compliance record of the EL FARO, crewmember duties and qualifications, past operations of the vessel and the Coast Guard’s Search and Rescue operations.
