In response to requests for information, the Coast Guard’s Marine Safety Center posted a list of manufacturer’s who submitted a Letter of Intent to pursue type for their ballast water treatment system and notify the Coast Guard of a manufacturer’s intention to conduct testing and submit a type approval application.

The Coast Guard Marine Safety Center has compiled, and is making publicly available, weekly information that it circulates to classification societies on the subject of vessel tonnage measurement.

The Coast Guard published a new guide that provides information concerning federal documentation and tonnage measurement requirements for commercial vessels of the United States that are less than 79 feet in overall length.
