Coast Guard officials joined regional stakeholders on August 29, 2014 in Anchorage, Ala. to talk about the Polar Code, an international code for ships operating in Arctic and Antarctic waters.

The Coast Guard will hold a public workshop on topics related to the development of a mandatory code for ships operating in polar waters by the International Maritime Organization.
Today, the Vice Commandant of the Coast Guard, Vice Adm. Peter Neffenger presented the service’s 2014 Arctic priorities in support of the Coast Guard’s Arctic Strategy.
